I love listening to these two and having this poetry podcast. I appreciate Jay’s honest and emotional discussion and background to his poems. And Heidi is a force of nature, her enthusiasm with words and in her readings is contagious. Plus these two poems are marvelous and perfect for the occasion. Unfortunately, Jay’s poem was not allowed at inauguration. With all due respect to Mayor Lundberg (I voted for him), this action smacks of censorship and unwarranted control over artistic expression. I understand his “concerns” as Jay does, still…??
